Cost: 3400 ₪ + 200 ₪ Non refundable Registration Fee.

Payment by Cash, Check or Credit Card. All fees must be paid up to one week before the course starts. If paying by Credit Card, tuition may be paid in installments of no less than 250 ₪ /mo for  a maximum of 10 months.  If paying by check, checks must be paid in advance and can be post dated until the course completion date. Cash – tuition must be paid in full before the course begins. I. COURSE OBJECTIVES:

This course is designed for students who wish to be involved with the architectural and interior design fields and for those interested in computer aided design. Students will be introduced to both traditional and computer aided drafting skills. This course will provide the student with an appreciation of the capabilities and limitations of the AutoCAD program. The aim of AutoCAD is to introduce students to basic information, skills, and concepts related to drafting and design. Special attention is given to: sketching, measurement, room planning, auxiliary views, working drawings, sectional views along with AutoCAD tools and commands. Course topics include basic AutoCad Level I and some Level II commands and functions as well as practical applications.

II. COURSE COMPETENCIES

• Starting computer and opening ACAD
• Use and construct icons for drawing in ACAD
• Save, edit and start new drawings
• Manage drawing using layers, color and linetypes
• Make basic Geometric shapes
• Complete Basic CAD drawings, with borders, text and dimensions
• Use Paper Space, and Model space
• Use and edit TEXT and TEXT styles
• Edit drawings with ERASE, OOPS, COPY, EXTEND, TRIM, MIRROR,
• UNDO REDO and MOVE commands
• USE Array, Modify and Hatch
• Use Grips, GRID, OSNAP, and Functions keys
• Plot drawings in A, B, C, and D sizes to correct scales
• Insert Blocks, Files and Raster images into drawings
• Create Blocks, Bitmaps and Wblocks
• Use Break, Chamfer, Fillet, Measure, Divide, Rotate, Scale, Lengthen and
• Explode commands
• Create, Edit and use Attributes

Week 1.

• Introduction to AutoCAD
• Learning about software & icons
• Opening & Starting a new drawing
• Creating basic shapes using Line, Copy, Erase
• Organizing and saving the drawing

Week 2.

• Review homework
• Creating basic shapes using Rectangle, Circle, Arc, Ellipse
• Editing drawing with Offset, Move, Mirror, Rotate

Week 3.

• Review homework
• Using navigations and controlling basic drawing with Zoom, Pan, Snapping,

Week 4.

• Review homework
• Advanced modifying and controlling basic drawing With Stretch, Trim, Scale, Array

Week 5.

• Review homework
• Principles of working with Layers, Line types, Line colors
• Different layers & colors for different line weights
• Layer property manager- Freezing and Locking Layers

Week 6.

• Review homework
• Creating Blocks such as doors & windows
• Integrating and inserting the blocks in a layout
• Exploding and redefining block definitions

Week 7.

• Review homework
• Creating, Editing personal Dimensions integrating in a layout
• Different scale dimensions for details
• Using Linear, Angular & Radius dimensions

Week 8.

• Creating, Editing personal Texts and Text styles, integrating in a layout,
• Different scaled texts for different details
• Creating & Editing Attributes
• Coping with Hebrew texting

Week 9.

• Creating and using different Hatches to give the layout more depth

• Using drawing properties for information and modifying

Week 10.

• Inserting External References (XREF) into drawing
• Inserting Raster Images into drawing
• Inserting existing Blocks, e.g.: furniture, toilets, bathtubs
• Creating a Writeblock file (Wblock)

Week 11.

• Learning to create cross sections and elevations
• Using different blocks and techniques

• Creating complete layout of kitchen

• Model Space-Paper Space.
• Creating frames, strips with logos & dates for final display and plotting
• Scaling and laying out different details on one sheet

• Creating Plot styles, Plotter manager, Viewports
• Plot settings for final printout & plotting

• Final presentation of chosen project.
