Topic: Daniel,Ezra,and Nechemia Part II
The books of Daniel,Ezra, and Nechemia are rarely studied yet deal with themes that are very relevant to modern times :the return to Tzion after 70 years of galut, the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the Beit Hamikdash, and the religious and political steps that needed to be taken to reconstitute Jewish society in the aftermath of devastating calamity. We will attempt to explore these themes through the Biblical narrative.

Topic: “עמך עמי ואלוקיך אלקי”
This class will explore the topic of conversion through the lenses of Tanach, Halachah and Machshava. From Rut, the “first convert,” and all the way through the complex contemporary debates, we will explore the spirit and practice of conversion throughout the generations, and how it reflects what it means to be a Jew.

Topic: Haftarot
The Haftorah: Be prepared every Shabbat with a dvar Torah about the Haftorah of the week! The Haftorot of the beginning of Sefer Bamidbar come from Hoshea, Shoftim, Zechariah, and Yehoshua. During this period we also read from Yechezkiel on Shavuot and Rosh Chodesh. How do these sefarim connect to the parsha? Why were they chosen? How does this enhance our understanding of the Parsha?
